For me family isn’t defined by blood or by last names; it’s defined by respect and joy in each other’s life, by commitment and by love. It’s about the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you unconditionally. These people, linked by blood or common ground, are the link to our past and the bridge to our future. My sabbatical is dedicated to my immediate and extended family who all make me a better person. This summer I was fortunate to find many opportunities to connect with family members who hold a special place in my heart. This year I hope my adventures will help me connect and add to my extended family.
